Introduction to North SeaTac Park Restoration

The city of SeaTac, in Partnership with the Washington Native Plant Society and King Conservation District, has begun a pilot restoration project in the Southern part of North SeaTac Park.  This wooded area is currently used for orienteering, walking, and biking.  The restoration project will not interfere with any of these activities.

During the restoration work visitors to the park will see Washington Native Plant Society stewards in the woods removing "weeds" (non native plants), applying suppression in the form of cardboard and mulch, and planting native plants.  All of this is being done in an effort to restore native habitat for wildlife and increase plant diversity for the future.

If you would like to get involved in the restoration effort please email the stewards at seatacstewards@gmail.com.  We welcome volunteers to become active in the restoration process and learn about the benefits of planting with native plants.
